A very interesting (I think) round-table discussion about the possibilities for and the limitations of video podcasting, featuring me and four other members of the San Diego Podcasters:

- Kit Mitzel, host of The Daily Drivel (http://www.dailydrivel.net) - Tom and Adele Sidock, hosts of The Loose Ends (http://www.looseendsshow.com) - Michael Winn, publisher of The Osprey (web site under development)

At one point Michael mentions a song by Gillian Welch about the effect of file sharing on musicians. The song is Everything is Free and you can find it on iTunes by clicking on the song title.

By now most of you have probably heard about Heil microphones, given that several of Heil's award-winning PR-40s were handed out to award recipients at the Podcast Awards ceremonies last weekend and they're already being used and raved about on several podcasts as a result. Prior to all of this I bumped into Paul Figgiani from The Point podcast at the Expo who recommended I check out the Heil PR-20 handheld mic for field use. So this is just a heads up that I'll be reviewing both the PR-20 and the PR-40 in an upcoming show. In the meantime, you can check them out by clicking on any of the product names in this entry.

I'm finally done with the Podcast Expo...lots of work getting ready (two concerts, one party, one booth) but all worth it. To help celebrate, a free copy of the brand new podcaster art calendar from Len at jawbone (http://www.cafepress.com/podcasterart) goes to the first person to post a comment below with a URL to a photo of me with another podcaster at the Expo. (There are already several floating around the internet.)

And yes, there will be a new BTS soon, having nothing to do with the Expo (my voice was shot the entire time)!
